Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport have unveiled a new project based on the Honda NSX – the Tensei restomod, which brings the legendary sports car back to its roots. The model features a naturally aspirated V6, a six-speed manual transmission, and a completely redesigned body. The official premiere is scheduled for 2026.

The main change is in the proportions. The car has become wider, lower, and gained an extended wheelbase, while the rear overhang was shortened. This gives the silhouette a more aggressive and modern look.

At the same time, designers have preserved key elements of the original, including pop-up headlights and an integrated rear spoiler. The project leader noted that after fixing the new proportions, the car practically designed itself, emphasizing the harmony of the design.

Unlike modern supercars, the new NSX has completely abandoned turbochargers and electrification. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated V6, based on the original engine, with a focus on response and pure dynamics.

It pairs with a six-speed manual transmission, making the model a rare offering in the market. This approach contrasts with the trend toward hybrid and electric powertrains dominating the segment.

The Tensei project is not just a restomod but an attempt to rethink the sports car concept. In an era where the automotive industry is moving toward electric vehicles and automation, such projects are aimed at enthusiasts.

The model will be hand-assembled in Italy with the possibility of deep personalization, further enhancing its exclusivity.
