BMW unveils the 2027 7 Series facelift with a panoramic iDrive system, 112 kWh battery for 560+ km range, and competitive pricing. Explore the latest updates.

BMW has unveiled the updated version of its flagship 7 Series sedan for the 2027 model year. This is a planned facelift, but the changes are more noticeable inside than out, and the electric i7 version gets a range boost.

Externally, the sedan features an updated kidney grille, new lighting, and slightly redesigned taillights. However, the key changes are concentrated in the cabin.

The main innovation is the Panoramic iDrive system with a screen stretching across the entire width of the dashboard. The central 17.9-inch display is complemented by a separate screen for the front passenger, which is now standard equipment.

The base 740 version retains the 3.0-liter turbo engine with mild hybrid assistance, but power has increased to 394 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than 5 seconds. The electric lineup includes the i7 50 xDrive and i7 60 xDrive variants. Power reaches 536 hp, and a new 112 kWh battery pack has increased the range to over 560 km. Charging has also been improved, now supporting up to 250 kW, which reduces replenishment time.

BMW has maintained a competitive pricing strategy. The base 740 version starts at $101,350, which is just $500 more than the previous model. The electric i7 versions start at $107,750 and go up to $126,250 for the top specification.

BMW continues to balance traditional and electric versions in the premium sedan segment. With minimal price increases, the model receives significant technological updates, which is important against a backdrop of intensifying competition. This is especially true for China and the US, where demand for luxury electric sedans is actively growing.

The updated BMW 7 Series shows that even without a generational change, a model can be significantly upgraded. The main focus is on the digital experience and electrification, making the flagship more relevant in a changing market.
