Ford unveils 2027 Expedition updates, including standard laminated windshield glass for noise reduction, wireless charging, and a 30th Anniversary package.

Ford has unveiled updates for the 2027 model year Expedition SUV, timed to the model's 30th anniversary. A key change is the introduction of laminated windshield glass, now standard across all trims.

Previously used only for side windows, this upgrade enhances acoustic comfort and reduces cabin noise. There's no extra charge for this feature. Additionally, wireless charging returns to the lineup, though it's not available on every trim. Ford has also expanded configuration choices: rear-wheel drive is once again offered on certain versions that were previously all-wheel-drive only.

Equipment changes include standard towing packages on several trims, along with new safety options and subscription services. However, some familiar features, like the SecuriCode keypad, are now reserved for top-tier versions.

To mark the anniversary, a special 30th Anniversary package is available, featuring unique design elements and an exclusive body color. This move shows Ford is focusing on boosting comfort and expanding personalization options.

The Expedition's refresh demonstrates how subtle details can significantly improve a vehicle's appeal. The laminated glass, while not the most eye-catching update, is a meaningful refinement. Overall, the model becomes more comfortable without undergoing radical changes.
