Jaecoo 5 hybrid model launched in UK with 165 kW powertrain
Jaecoo introduces a new hybrid version of the Jaecoo 5 crossover for the UK, featuring a 1.5-litre engine, 650-mile range, and starting at £26,270. Deliveries begin in 2026.
Jaecoo has unveiled a new hybrid version of its compact Jaecoo 5 crossover for the UK market. Designated the SHS-H, this model expands the existing lineup, which already includes petrol and fully electric variants. Customer deliveries are set to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
The hybrid powertrain pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a specialised transmission, delivering a combined output of 165 kW (224 hp). The vehicle features a 1.83 kWh battery and a 51-litre fuel tank, providing a total range of over 650 miles (approximately 1,046 km). It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
According to the manufacturer, fuel consumption is up to 4.4 litres per 100 km on the WLTP cycle. This makes the model one of the most efficient in the segment, where affordable hybrids are gaining momentum.
Externally, the hybrid version is identical to the petrol model, retaining the signature grille, broad shoulders, and upright proportions. Five body colours are available, along with two-tone options.
The model is offered in Pure and Luxury trims. Even the base version comes with a 13.2-inch multimedia screen, a Sony audio system, and wireless smartphone connectivity. Higher-spec variants add a panoramic roof, dual-zone climate control, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Pricing for the Jaecoo 5 SHS-H starts at £26,270. The vehicle will be sold through the Omoda & Jaecoo dealer network and comes with a warranty of up to 7 years or 161,000 km, with the battery covered for up to 8 years.
