Audi RS Q6 Sportback e-tron: testing, specs, and debut

A. Krivonosov

Audi's RS Q6 Sportback e-tron is a powerful electric SUV with 639 hp, 0-100 km/h in 3.3s, built on the PPE platform. Learn about its design and market impact.

Audi is continuing active testing of the new RS Q6 Sportback e-tron, with prototypes spotted on the Nürburgring, indicating the model's debut is approaching. This new vehicle will be the most powerful version in the Q6 e-tron lineup, targeting the high-performance electric SUV segment.

Even under camouflage, it's clear the RS version features a more aggressive design: a revised front bumper, larger air intakes, substantial wheel rims, and a pronounced rear diffuser. Visually, the model will stand out noticeably from the SQ6 and standard versions. While the interior remains undisclosed, it's expected to include Audi's signature Digital Stage system with three screens and a sporty cabin with unique trim elements.

Technically, the RS Q6 e-tron is built on the PPE platform, developed jointly with Porsche. Preliminary data suggests the car will have two electric motors and a battery around 100 kWh. Power could reach 470 kW (639 hp), putting it in line with the Porsche Macan Turbo Electric. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is projected at about 3.3 seconds, placing the model among the fastest SUVs available.

Audi is betting on electric RS models, and the Q6 could become a key player in this strategy. If the claimed specifications hold true, this will represent a serious challenge not only to Tesla but also to Porsche.
