Volvo unveils new electric trucks with up to 700 km range
Volvo Trucks introduces the FH Aero Electric with a 700 km range and Megawatt Charging System. Updated models offer up to 470 km range and 540 kW power for regional transport.
Volvo Trucks has unveiled new electric trucks, including the FH Aero Electric with a range of up to 700 km. This makes it one of the longest-range electric trucks in its class.
The model features a new e-axle system that combines two electric motors with a six-speed gearbox. This layout allows for more batteries and increased energy capacity. Power reaches 460 kW (623 hp), with a gross combination weight of up to 48 tonnes.
The truck supports the Megawatt Charging System with charging power up to 700 kW. Charging from 20% to 80% takes about 50 minutes. CCS charging at 350 kW is also available, requiring around 85 minutes.
In parallel, Volvo has updated its FH Electric, FM Electric, and FMX Electric models. Their range has been increased to 470 km, with power reaching 540 kW (731 hp). These versions are aimed at regional transport, construction, and municipal applications. The new trucks feature improved transmissions, smoother operation, and reduced noise levels. They also offer the ability to power additional equipment without diesel units.
This development highlights how new 2026 vehicles are gradually transitioning to electric power, even in the heavy-duty trucking segment.
