China's automotive industry continues to experiment with sales formats and technologies. This time, Deepal (Shenlan) has announced the launch of a new version of its L06 sedan with an extended range, partnering with e-commerce giant JD.com. This collaboration goes beyond a simple partnership—it represents a digital sales model where buying a car becomes part of an online ecosystem.
The focus is on the powertrain. The new Deepal L06 in its range-extender version can travel up to 1,505 km in combined mode, with a pure electric range reaching 245 km. Fuel consumption in battery-depletion mode is claimed at just 3.46 L/100 km, a figure that positions the model as a serious contender in the hybrid category.
Technically, the model is already familiar to the market: it measures nearly 4.83 meters in length, has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, and features a fully independent five-link rear suspension. Inside, there's a modern architecture with a 15.6-inch rotating display and a platform based on a 3nm MediaTek processor.
The equipment deserves special attention: over 90 driver-assistance systems, including automated parking, remote control, and navigation for highways and cities. The batteries are supplied by CATL, which further boosts confidence in the technology.
The Deepal L06 illustrates where the market is headed: hybrids with extensive range and minimal consumption are becoming a real alternative to traditional internal combustion engines. Integration with online platforms like JD.com marks the next step in the evolution of car buying.
