Scout Motors Terra and Traveler electric models face further delays
Scout Motors has delayed its Terra pickup and Traveler SUV launches, with production pushed to 2028 or later, highlighting EV production challenges for new automakers.
Scout Motors has once again delayed the launch of its electric models, the Terra and Traveler. The pickup and SUV concepts were unveiled about a year and a half ago, with sales initially expected to begin in 2027.
That timeline was later pushed to 2028, but now further delays have emerged. Production of the Traveler SUV at the South Carolina plant is reportedly postponed by another six months.
The situation with the Terra pickup appears more uncertain. According to the latest information, its launch might not happen within this decade, marking a significant shift from the company's original plans.
Despite interest from customers who placed early deposits for reservations, the projects continue to face extended timelines. These delays highlight the challenges new automakers encounter in the electric vehicle segment, particularly in developing and ramping up mass production.
