The Tesla Model Y electric crossover was Germany's best-selling electric vehicle in March 2026, with 6,841 registrations giving it a market share of around 9.7%.

This marks a significant comeback for the Model Y, which jumped six spots to reclaim the top position for the first time since December 2024. The Skoda Elroq took second place with 3,872 registrations, followed by the Skoda Enyaq in third with 3,392 units.

Other models in the top ten included the Volkswagen ID.3, ID.7, and ID.4/ID.5, along with the Tesla Model 3, Mercedes-Benz CLA, Audi A6 e-tron, and Cupra Tavascan. Notably, the Model 3 improved its standing, climbing to seventh place.

Overall, Germany saw 70,663 electric vehicle registrations in March, a 66.2% increase compared to the previous year. Electric cars now account for 24% of the market. These figures highlight strong demand for urban electric vehicles, particularly in the midsize SUV and sedan segments.
