Hyundai Palisade sales resume with software update after recall

Hyundai has resumed sales of the 2026 model year Palisade crossover following a temporary halt and a large-scale recall. The issue stemmed from a problem with the power seats, linked to a tragic incident in the United States.

In March, the company suspended sales and recalled 68,500 Palisade vehicles after an incident in Ohio where a seat malfunction resulted in a child's death. The problem affected models with power-adjustable second- and third-row seats in the Limited and Calligraphy trims.

Hyundai developed a software update that eliminates the risk of seat malfunction. With the new software installed, dealers have been authorized to resume vehicle sales.
