Tuned Nissan Murano becomes a stylish sports car
Kuhl Racing transforms the new Nissan Murano with lowered suspension, 22-inch wheels, and aerodynamic upgrades. See how this family SUV turns into a show car.
The new Nissan Murano is still preparing for its launch in the Japanese market, but local tuners have already started modifying the crossover. The tuning house Kuhl Racing has unveiled the first sketches of a project that transforms this family SUV into a stylish road-going sports car.
The main feature is a radically lowered suspension. The body height will be reduced by 60–70 mm, bringing the Murano visually closer to sports models like the Nissan GT-R. This approach highlights the crossover's new, wider body and makes it noticeably more aggressive.
The look is completed by large forged wheels, 21 or 22 inches in diameter, and a planned aerodynamic package. This will include a front splitter, a redesigned bumper, extended side skirts, a diffuser, and a small spoiler. Beyond the visual changes, the installation of a more powerful braking system and an adjustable suspension is planned.
However, the powertrain will remain unchanged—under the hood will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 241 horsepower, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Interestingly, the model will be imported to Japan from the United States in a left-hand-drive configuration, which is a rarity for the local market.
The price is expected to be around $50,000, with the full tuning package potentially adding over $15,000 more. This project demonstrates how quickly perceptions of crossovers are evolving—even a family SUV can easily be turned into a stylish show car today. The only question is whether buyers are ready to sacrifice comfort for visual impact.
