Mercedes-Benz G 580 SUV recall: wheel bolt safety issue www.mercedes-benz.com

Mercedes-Benz recalls 3,734 G 580 EQ SUVs in the US due to faulty wheel bolts, posing safety risks. Learn about the issue and affected models.

German automaker Mercedes-Benz, renowned for its quality and advanced technology, recently encountered an issue affecting a limited batch of its electric G 580 SUVs equipped with innovative EQ technology.

In the United States, a recall campaign may involve 3,734 units of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class EQ. The potentially problematic vehicles were manufactured during a specific timeframe, from February 26, 2024, to August 19, 2025.

The primary reason for the recall is a potential problem with wheel fasteners. Specifically, there is a high risk that the wheel bolts may not meet production standards. This could result in insufficiently secure attachment of the wheels to the vehicle's hubs, posing a safety threat to passengers and other road users.

Such a deviation from fastener standards increases the risk of accidents related to the sudden loosening of a wheel while the vehicle is in motion.
