Opel reveals the Corsa GSE, its most powerful electric hatchback. With sport-tuned chassis, 281 HP motor, and Nürburgring testing, it aims to be an affordable performance EV.

Opel is putting the finishing touches on the new Corsa GSE, the most powerful production version of its popular hatchback. Ahead of its official debut, engineers took the electric car to the Nürburgring, focusing on fine-tuning the suspension and handling.

According to brand representatives, the key challenge was achieving a perfect balance between power and control. The car will feature a sport-tuned chassis, a recalibrated steering system, and adapted ESP functionality, all designed to deliver precise responses to driver inputs.

While official specifications remain under wraps, the model is expected to inherit the powertrain from the Mokka GSE—an electric motor producing around 281 horsepower with a Torsen differential. The Corsa, however, will be lighter, which should translate to better dynamics and potentially greater range efficiency.

Visually, the car already showcases an aggressive look, with flared wheel arches, a prominent front spoiler, and sporty alloy wheels. Inside, bucket seats tailored for spirited driving will make an appearance.

The Corsa GSE is set to debut this fall at the Paris Motor Show. This model aims to strengthen Opel's position in the performance EV segment and demonstrate what an affordable sports car without an internal combustion engine can be. If Opel manages to strike the right balance between price and driving excitement, the Corsa GSE could become one of the most compelling hot electric cars in the mass market.
