BMW explains its move to Panoramic Vision, a head-up display across the windshield, replacing traditional instrument clusters for enhanced digital driving.

BMW has explained its decision to abandon traditional instrument clusters in its new models. Instead, the company is implementing its Panoramic Vision system, which is already featured in the new i3 and will gradually roll out to most of the brand's vehicles.

The system is a head-up display that spans the entire width of the windshield. Information is projected onto a special surface, remaining clearly visible even in bright sunlight. Key data previously shown on the instrument cluster is now displayed on the left side of this projection.

Panoramic Vision works in conjunction with the head-up display and a central 17.9-inch screen. Drivers can customize the information shown, integrating vehicle control functions with digital services.

BMW states that this new concept aims to blend the digital environment with the driving experience while maintaining a core principle: keeping the driver's focus on the road ahead. This technology will become a standard feature in future models, reflecting the brand's approach to developing new cars with a strong emphasis on digital solutions and interfaces.
