Kia unveils Plant Remote OTA for secure factory over-the-air updates to CCNC vehicles via CCS 2.0. Cars ship fully updated, cutting dealer visits and setup time.
Kia is taking another step toward its vision of smarter mobility. The company has unveiled Plant Remote OTA, the industry’s first solution that lets vehicles receive software updates remotely before they even leave the factory.
The feature will apply to all new Kia models equipped with the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform. The system uses an OTA controller compliant with the Connected Car System 2.0 (CCS 2.0) standard, enabling stable and secure updates across all electronic modules.
According to the company, introducing Plant Remote OTA will cut down on manual setup and dealer visits, while buyers will get immediate access to the full suite of digital services and functions right after purchase.
Atul Sood, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Kia India, said the technology underscores Kia’s commitment to innovation and its aim to make ownership as convenient and intelligent as possible.
From the driver’s seat, the move looks pragmatic: shifting updates to the factory stage streamlines delivery and reduces friction at handover, making connected features feel truly built-in from day one.
As a result, every Kia will leave the plant fully updated and ready to use, setting a fresh benchmark for digital servicing and connected mobility.
