The first 2026 Ford Mustang GTD, featuring a unique Cinnabar Orange paint and Carbon Series package, highlights Ford's personalization options and high-performance supercar evolution.

The first examples of the new Ford Mustang GTD are now reaching owners, and one has already caught attention with its distinctive styling. This vehicle, with chassis number T001—the first 2026 model year Mustang GTD—features a unique Cinnabar Orange paint finish originally used on the Aston Martin DB11 sports car.

This unusual deep metallic orange shade pairs perfectly with the Carbon Series package fitted to the car. That package includes unpainted carbon fiber elements like the hood, roof, and rear Tech Deck section, along with dark Magnetite wheels. Bright red Race Red brake calipers complete the look, emphasizing the model's sporting character.

Such individual projects are made possible through Ford's Extended Color Palette program, which allows owners to choose almost any color for their vehicle. Previously, this program has yielded Mustang GTDs in Bullitt Green and even bright pink finishes. Ford itself also offers similar shades, such as Solar Boost or Orange Fury Metallic.

The Ford Mustang GTD ranks among the brand's most expensive cars. Its base price starts around $325,000, while the Carbon Series version shown in the photos is estimated at about $428,000. Additionally, owners must keep the car for at least two years, a requirement previously applied to buyers of the Ford GT supercar.

In essence, the Mustang GTD has become a track-focused supercar with road registration, blending extreme performance, rarity, and a high degree of personalization. It demonstrates just how far the legendary muscle car has evolved. Today, it's no longer just a sports car but a true collectible supercar where custom colors and carbon fiber components are as much a part of its identity as engine power.
