Chinese automaker Chery is preparing to launch a new electric vehicle called the Fengyun A9. The model recently appeared in China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology database, which published its official specifications and images.

The new car is a coupe-style sedan positioned as a next-generation model with a focus on technology and design. Its dimensions measure 4,836 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,489 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. It comes equipped with 235/45 R18 wheels.

The electric version of the Fengyun A9 features a single electric motor producing 178 kW. Power comes from a lithium iron phosphate battery. Chery first unveiled the model in January at the Chery AI Night 2026 event. The car showcases the brand's distinctive "Lingfeng" design language and an interior called "Yangfan Yingyun."

This newcomer also packs modern digital systems. These include the AI Lingxi intelligent multimedia system, a next-generation 8678 processor with 3-nanometer architecture, and the AI Boya audio system. The Falcon driver assistance system incorporates lidar and supports autonomous driving functions for both city and highway use. The computing platform's performance reaches 128 TOPS.

According to preliminary information, the electric Fengyun A9 could hit the market as early as the second quarter of 2026. Later, the company is also considering a version with extended range.

Chery is actively strengthening its position in the high-tech electric vehicle segment. If the promised autonomous driving features and digital capabilities live up to expectations, the Fengyun A9 could become one of the most intriguing new models among Chinese sedans.
