Tesla is updating its Robotaxi platform to include Android support, with new features like Live Activities for ride notifications, expanding service access beyond iOS users.

Tesla is preparing an update to its Robotaxi platform that will expand service access for Android users. This information emerged from an analysis of version 26.2.0 of the application.

According to Tesla App Updates, code elements indicating development of a full Android version of the app have been discovered. Specifically, the company is preparing a Live Activities feature for this operating system. This feature will display dynamic notifications about rides, including vehicle arrival time and order status.

The Robotaxi service is already operational but was initially available only to a limited group of users. Early testing was conducted among journalists and bloggers. Later, the app became available to Apple device owners, who could summon semi-autonomous taxis through the application in Austin and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Expanding Android support could significantly increase the service's audience. Tesla has traditionally released new features first for iOS, since iPhone users represent a higher percentage among the brand's car owners.

The launch of an Android version of the app is viewed as the next stage in the platform's development. The company is gradually expanding service access and preparing infrastructure for broader robotaxi use. This direction is becoming part of Tesla's strategy, which actively develops electric vehicles and digital services for its car owners.
