BMW has announced a major update to its model lineup. The German automaker plans to introduce over 40 new and updated cars by 2027. This program includes both all-new models and refreshed versions of existing vehicles, affecting most segments from compact cars to large SUVs and sporty variants.

Key highlights will be the new generations of the BMW 3 Series and BMW X5. These models will remain in the range with various powertrain options. The company continues its "technology neutrality" strategy, offering gasoline and diesel engines, hybrid versions, and fully electric variants.

A crucial element in the future lineup is the new electric architecture, Neue Klasse. It will serve as the foundation for the next generation of BMW electric vehicles. The first model on this platform is the new electric iX3 crossover, with production already underway at the plant in Debrecen, Hungary. A new electric BMW i3 will follow later. Over time, Neue Klasse technologies will be integrated into other models from the brand.

BMW's electric vehicle sales continue to grow. In 2025, the company delivered over 442,000 electric cars worldwide. By 2026, the manufacturer aims to expand its lineup to around 20 electric models, including new vehicles for 2026.
