Ford Ranger new work variants launch in South America
Ford introduces new Single Cab, Cab Chassis, and XL Double Cab Ranger pickups in South America, featuring a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine, high payload, and towing capacity.
Ford has expanded its Ranger pickup lineup in South America with several new work-focused variants. The additions include Single Cab, Cab Chassis, and XL Double Cab configurations, all designed for commercial applications.
Every new model comes equipped with a 2.0-liter Panther turbodiesel engine, producing 170 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. The Single Cab, Cab Chassis, and Double Cab versions feature a six-speed manual transmission, while the XL Double Cab also offers an optional six-speed automatic.
These pickups are available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. For the four-wheel-drive variants, a rear differential lock is standard, and hill descent control is available as an extra option.
Payload capacity remains a key highlight. The 4x4 Chassis Cab can handle up to 1,310 kg, the four-wheel-drive Single Cab manages 1,162 kg, and the 4x2 version takes 1,139 kg. When it comes to towing, the Single Cab and Chassis Cab can pull up to 2,500 kg, while the XL Double Cab with automatic transmission boosts that figure to 3,500 kg.
Production of these new variants will take place at Ford's plant in Pacheco, Argentina. Sales are set to begin in April, with a starting price around 43.5 million local pesos, roughly equivalent to $31,000.
