Audi RS 3 competition limited celebrates 50 years of five-cylinder engines
Limited to 750 units, the Audi RS 3 competition limited features a 394-hp engine, track-tuned suspension, and exclusive design, honoring 50 years of five-cylinder heritage.
Audi is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its legendary five-cylinder engine with the launch of the limited-edition RS 3 competition limited. Only 750 units will be produced, each paying tribute to the engine's heritage, which dates back to the rally Sport quattro and the production RS2 Avant.
Under the hood lies the familiar 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, producing 394 horsepower. It can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds, with a top speed reaching 179 mph when equipped with the optional performance package. The real highlight, however, is its distinctive sound. The unique firing order of 1-2-4-5-3 creates that signature five-cylinder growl, which Audi has amplified by reducing firewall insulation and fitting a sport exhaust system with earlier-opening valves.

This special edition also debuts a dedicated track-tuned suspension for the RS 3. For the first time, it features coilovers with three-way adjustability—covering low- and high-speed compression, as well as rebound. The anti-roll bars and springs are stiffer, and ceramic brakes are available as an option.
Visually, the car stands out in an exclusive Malachite Green paint, a nod to the historic Audi Sport quattro livery. Carbon-fiber canards, an extended front splitter, and matte-gold 19-inch Neodymium wheels add to its aggressive stance. Inside, the cabin is trimmed with Dinamica microfiber, accented by contrasting gold inserts and white stitching. The virtual cockpit display is styled to resemble the white-dial instrument cluster of the RS2 Avant.
Overall, the RS 3 competition limited is more than just an anniversary model. It's a true collector's car, built for enthusiasts who cherish the spirit of Audi's five-cylinder engines and demand maximum track precision.
