Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC price range leaked, up to $170,970
Leaked dealer memo reveals Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC pricing: base starts at $103,490, Track Pack at $139,990, making it the most expensive Mustang ever.
Ford is preparing to launch the most radical Mustang of the S650 generation—the Dark Horse SC—and a leaked dealer pricing memo has for the first time revealed the model's potential price range. According to data published in the U.S., the base version could start at $103,490. The Track Pack option raises the cost to $139,990, while the Track Pack Special Edition pushes the price to around $170,970 before delivery charges. If this information is confirmed, the market will see the first Mustang in history with a price tag comparable to exotic cars.
The leak quickly spread across social media, with some fans viewing the six-figure sums as a betrayal of the Mustang's philosophy as an affordable sports car. Others point out that limited production, high performance, and its status as the new flagship justify the price—especially as Ford positions the SC as the successor to the Shelby GT500. Notably, the last GT500 in 2022 cost around $80,000 (approximately $88,000 adjusted for 2026), which is significantly lower than the Dark Horse SC's starting point.

Discussion intensified with news of the auctioned VIN 001, which sold for $1.25 million in January. However, the actual market price has always been unknown—Ford has not commented on the leaks, and an official price list is still unavailable. Before production begins, the company could adjust its pricing strategy.
Nevertheless, the leak indicates a clear direction: Ford is elevating the Mustang into a more expensive, niche segment, transforming the Dark Horse SC from just a muscle car into a bespoke high-performance product. Whether the fanbase will accept this upward market shift remains an open question, but if the data is accurate, the new SC firmly establishes itself as the most expensive Mustang of all time.
