SAIC-GM launches over 30 new models with electric and hybrid vehicles
SAIC-GM plans to launch 30+ models in three years, including the Buick Zhijing Shijia EV with 640 kW charging and 400 km range in 10 minutes. Explore new EVs and hybrids.
SAIC-GM has announced a major model range refresh plan. Over the next three years, the automaker intends to launch more than ten new or updated vehicles annually, totaling over 30 models. The lineup will include electric vehicles, hybrids, and plug-in hybrid variants. 2026 will be a pivotal year for the brand.
One of the key debuts will be the electric Buick Zhijing Shijia, already open for pre-orders and set for official market release on March 17. The model is built on a 900-volt architecture and supports ultra-fast charging at up to 640 kW.
According to the manufacturer, just ten minutes of charging can deliver over 400 kilometers of range. Depending on the version, the electric car can travel up to 632 km on the CLTC cycle. The vehicle features modern digital technologies.
The interior uses an eight-screen system, including a 50-inch panoramic AR-HUD and a 21-inch display for second-row passengers. Computing is handled by a Qualcomm 8775 chip, and voice control supports a new-generation AI model.
Additionally, the lineup will see new Buick Zhijing L7 and Zhijing E7 models. The latter will be a mid-size SUV with a hybrid powertrain and a range exceeding 1,600 kilometers. Cadillac is also preparing a new large electric flagship SUV named Kaiweide. It will feature a six-seat cabin, the Momenta intelligent driving system, and single- or dual-motor versions.
SAIC-GM's strategy highlights how automakers are increasingly betting on platform flexibility and powertrain diversity. By offering both electric and hybrid vehicles simultaneously, brands aim to adapt more quickly to shifting market demand.
