According to Kelley Blue Book (KBB), the base 2021 Tesla Model X originally cost $81,190 when new. Today, its average price sits at around $36,200. This means the Model X loses roughly 55% of its initial value over five years.

Interestingly, the Model X holds its value better than the brand's more popular Model Y. The Tesla Model Y typically depreciates by about 60% after five years of use.

Even with a 55% drop, the 2021 Model X remains a more attractive proposition compared to premium electric vehicles from rival automakers. For instance, the base 2021 Audi e-tron had a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $66,995. KBB data shows its average value has plunged by 67% over the same five-year period.
