Volkswagen Group dominates 2026 Best Cars survey with 10 wins
Volkswagen Group made history in the 2026 Best Cars survey, winning 10 categories and 28 prizes. Learn about its record-breaking performance and new model launches.
The Volkswagen Group has set a historic record in the 50th Best Cars 2026 survey organized by the German magazine auto motor und sport. The conglomerate won 10 out of 25 categories and secured 28 of the 75 possible prize positions.
In the overall standings, the Volkswagen brand claimed three victories, including one by its Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles division. Porsche won two categories, while Audi took one. In the import ranking, Skoda emerged as the most successful brand with three awards, and Bentley earned one win.
Approximately 95,000 readers participated in the voting, making it Europe's largest automotive survey. In 2026, 480 models across 13 categories were available for selection.
Over the past two years, the group has refreshed its model lineup by launching around 60 new vehicles. This year, it plans to introduce more than 20 additional new models, including compact electric cars for the European market and new electric vehicles for China.
The survey results validate the effectiveness of the conglomerate's product strategy and bolster its position in the European market.
