Dacia Duster Spirit of Sand limited edition hybrid SUV details

Dacia has launched a limited edition Duster Spirit of Sand, celebrating the brand's participation and victory in the 48th Dakar rally. Only 500 units will be produced, available exclusively on the Romanian market.

Technical Feature – A Dual-Fuel Hybrid

According to the automotive magazine SPEEDME, the Spirit of Sand's standout feature is its unconventional powertrain. Under the hood is a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system and a rear electric module. Total output reaches 152 horsepower, with 31 hp provided by the electric motor.

The model features a dual-fuel setup: alongside a 50-litre petrol tank is an identically sized LPG tank. The combined range is claimed to be around 1,500 km. Average WLTP cycle consumption is 6.0 l/100 km on petrol and 7.3 l/100 km on gas. Power is sent through an automated manual transmission.

Equipment and Design

The special edition comes with an expanded equipment list. The Cold Pack and Parking Pack include a heated windscreen, heated seats and steering wheel, a 360-degree camera system, parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring.

Externally, the model is distinguished by copper-brown decorative accents, special badging, and black 17-inch Tergan alloy wheels. An aluminium underbody guard reinforces its off-road credentials.

Price and Delivery Schedule

The Duster Spirit of Sand is priced at 28,990 euros. Orders are being taken exclusively online, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for April 2026. Prospective buyers should act quickly, however, as demand is expected to outstrip the limited supply.
