General Motors has a service update for 2026 Chevrolet Silverado pickups to fix water leaks through ventilation valves. Learn about the inspection and sealing process.

General Motors has issued a service update for certain 2026 model year Chevrolet Silverado pickups. Bulletin N252536560 applies to the Silverado 1500, as well as the HD versions—the 2500HD and 3500HD. The exact number of affected vehicles is not specified.

According to the company, water may leak into the cabin through a pressure relief valve opening. These ventilation components are located behind the cab and can allow moisture ingress under certain conditions, potentially leading to dampness inside the vehicle.

Dealers are instructed to inspect the ventilation area and, if necessary, seal the openings using RTV sealant. They may use the original ACDelco RTV or similar compounds. This campaign is classified as a Service Update, not a recall, and primarily targets vehicles at dealer lots. Customer vehicles may also be inspected upon request. The update is valid until February 29, 2028.

For readers, this detail matters because the Silverado remains a key model for the brand in the top SUV segment for 2026. In practice, GM is also preparing a new generation of the Silverado 1500, expected to debut within 2026 with updated design, interior, and powertrain lineup.
