Mercedes-AMG 2027 CLE 63 Cabrio details and features

Mercedes-AMG is continuing testing of the new 2027 CLE 63 Cabrio. This model was initially planned as a plug-in hybrid, but it will now feature a classic 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. Development of the hybrid version was halted following negative feedback from brand enthusiasts.

A prototype was spotted during road tests with updated lighting and aerodynamic changes. The front headlights will incorporate the signature three-pointed star, while the Panamericana grille and air intakes have been redesigned. At the rear, aerodynamic elements include a diffuser and four square exhaust tips.

The powertrain consists of a V8 engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, already used in the updated S-Class. It produces approximately 550 horsepower, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The suspension will receive stiffer tuning.

Inside, the cabin retains the 10.25-inch instrument cluster and adds a new steering wheel. The MB.OS multimedia system features AI integration from Microsoft and Google.

This model will join the 2026 sports car lineup in the convertible segment, with an official debut expected in late 2026 and sales starting in early 2027.
