Ram continues to expand its off-road lineup with the return of the 1500 Rebel X for the 2026 model year. This model slots between the standard Rebel and the more extreme RHO, maintaining a focus on capability and premium features.

Under the hood, it features a 3.0-liter inline Hurricane turbo engine producing 420 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque. For those seeking more power, the Ram 1500 RHO offers 540 horsepower, and later in the year, the TRX will return with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 delivering 777 horsepower. The Rebel X gets a 1-inch suspension lift, Bilstein shocks, 18-inch wheels with 33-inch off-road tires, an electronic locking differential, and underbody protection.

One standout feature is the Rough Road Cruise Control system, an off-road cruise control that operates at speeds up to 32 km/h and automatically adjusts suspension damping and steering effort. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch multimedia screen, a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon audio system with 19 speakers, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, driver's seat memory settings, and a power tailgate. The starting price for the 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel X is $71,930, which is $2,245 more than the previous version and brings it close to the RHO in cost.

The Rebel X positions itself as a compromise between practicality and extreme capability. Given the popularity of off-road pickup versions in the U.S., this format has strong potential for success, even with the price increase.
