Peugeot launches its first electric crossover, the E-3008, in Japan. Features include a 604 km WLTC range, fast charging, and a panoramic i-Cockpit. Starting at 7.6 million yen.

Peugeot has launched its first electric crossover, the E-3008, in the Japanese market, marking a significant milestone for the brand. Built on the new STLA Medium platform designed for C- and D-segments, it combines architectural flexibility with Peugeot's signature chassis tuning. The model has sparked lively discussions on social media in Japan, with users praising its striking teal color, unique body shape, and impressive range.

The E-3008 features the brand's distinctive styling, including a sleek fastback silhouette, hidden window lines, a large frameless grille, and signature LED "claw" lights. Inside, it centers around the new Panoramic i-Cockpit concept with a 21-inch curved display and a compact steering wheel. The dashboard is trimmed in fabric, while ambient lighting in eight colors creates a cohesive space. The trunk offers up to 520 liters of volume.

The electric version comes with a 73 kWh battery and a claimed WLTC range of 604 km. Its liquid-cooling system supports fast charging up to 160 kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 20% to 80% in about half an hour. The flat battery placement lowers the center of gravity and enhances stability. Features include pre-conditioning and three levels of regenerative braking.

In Japan, pricing starts at 7.6 million yen. The model qualifies for government subsidies, with support in Tokyo potentially reaching 1.34 million yen. Online opinions are divided: some see the E-3008 as a notable step in the brand's evolution, while others point to the high cost of the sole front-wheel-drive variant.
