Lexus has unveiled the updated RZ electric crossover in Germany, featuring a modernized powertrain, improved battery, and expanded digital functions. The starting price has increased to a minimum of €57,100, which is about €1,500 higher than before.

The base RZ 350e version comes with front-wheel drive and produces 227 horsepower. For the richer Premium trim, buyers will need to pay an extra €7,900. The main technical improvement is an optimized 77 kWh battery: the range has increased to 509 km in the WLTP cycle, compared to a maximum of 479 km for the previous version.

Charging efficiency has also improved. On a fast DC terminal, the battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour, and the onboard AC device now supports up to 22 kW instead of the previous 11 kW.

For buyers who prioritize performance, the all-wheel-drive RZ 500e is available with 380 horsepower, starting from €63,000. The new RZ 550e develops 408 horsepower and costs at least €78,700, offering up to 462 km of range.

Separately, the introduction of steer-by-wire and a new steering wheel is notable, especially since these features will be banned in China starting in 2027. The navigation system now accounts for charge level and automatically suggests optimal charging points.

Overall, this update makes the Lexus RZ more long-range and technologically advanced, maintaining its focus on premium positioning—and the corresponding price tag.
