The new Volkswagen Lavida Pro enters production at SAIC Volkswagen, bringing a cleaner design, smarter cabin tech, and a 1.5T EVO II engine with a DSG pairing.

On November 3, the new Lavida Pro officially went into production at the SAIC Volkswagen joint venture—an updated sedan that joins the Pro series with a cleaner design, smarter electronics, and a modernized engine.

On the outside, it follows the Pro family’s design language: graceful surfaces meet more purposeful details. Buyers can choose between two front-end treatments: Classic, with horizontal chrome accents, and Starry, featuring a black grille patterned like a night sky. Both versions are fitted with LED headlights, a signature light bar, and an illuminated emblem, which gives the face a cohesive, contemporary look.

The side view is softer and more refined, while the rear gains a new full-width taillight cluster. Dimensions are 4,720 x 1,806 x 1,482 mm, with a 2,688-mm wheelbase. Wheel choices include 15-, 16-, or 17-inch designs.

Inside, the Pro-themed cabin brings a floating infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster, and a wireless charging pad integrated into the center console. Smartphone integration covers Apple CarPlay, Baidu CarLife, and Huawei HiCar.

Under the hood sits the updated EA211 1.5T EVO II engine with a variable-geometry turbocharger, 350-bar fuel injection, and operation on the Miller cycle. It pairs with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission—a technically ambitious setup that should appeal to drivers who value efficient, seamless response.

Taken together, the Lavida Pro shows how Volkswagen is channeling premium-leaning technology into a mainstream sedan. The refresh adds energy and verve while keeping that clean-cut German restraint intact.
