British company Wells Motor Cars plans to increase production of the Vertige sports coupe to 12 cars in 2026 and 24 in 2027, offering lightweight, driver-focused performance.

British company Wells Motor Cars, based in Warwickshire, will increase production of its mid-engine Vertige sports coupe in 2026. The plan is to build around 12 cars that year, with output rising to approximately 24 vehicles in 2027.

The Vertige debuted at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed, embodying founder Robin Wells's vision of a lightweight, driver-focused sports car. Limited production of the Founders Edition began in 2023.

Weighing about 850 kg, the coupe features a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Ford Duratec four-cylinder engine producing 208 horsepower. An R version is also available, offering 250 hp for a power-to-weight ratio of 212.5 hp per ton. The chassis was engineered after the design was finalized, tailored to the car's compact dimensions.

Inside, the cabin uses analog gauges, a small multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay, and various trim and upholstery options. According to Robin Wells, the Vertige is designed to be simple to operate, avoiding complex electronic menus.

The Wells Vertige is a niche sports car for 2026, to be built exclusively by hand in small batches.
