Ford recalls 1,403 Transit vans due to an improperly secured engine front crossmember, which could cause power loss or brake failure. Learn about the fix and safety steps.

Ford Motor Company has announced a recall for some 2023-2024 Ford Transit vans. The campaign, registered with the NHTSA under number 26V061000, affects 1,403 vehicles.

The recall stems from an improperly secured engine front crossmember. If this component shifts, it could lead to a loss of power or brake failure, increasing the risk of a crash. This issue relates to the vehicle's structural elements.

As part of the recall, Ford dealers will replace the crossmember fasteners at no cost. Safety risk notifications to owners are scheduled to begin on February 20, 2026. Additional letters will be sent after a final fix is approved. VIN checks are available on the NHTSA website starting February 4, 2026.

Since the Ford Transit is widely used by small businesses, the manufacturer advises owners not to delay contacting a dealer. For details, customers can reach out to Ford's support team, referencing internal campaign number 26S04.
