MINI has unveiled a special edition Countryman for the Japanese market called the Shadow Edition. This model combines John Cooper Works styling with a set of black accents inside and out. All cars are finished in Legend Gray with a black roof and come equipped with 19-inch black JCW Runway Spoke wheels.

The exterior features also include mirror caps with a black-and-white Union Jack motif. Inside, the dark theme continues with seats upholstered in Beskin Black material, while the dashboard and door inserts come in similar shades.
The powertrain is the main highlight of the Shadow Edition. MINI will sell this special version exclusively with a diesel engine. It's based on the Countryman D, which uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder B47 engine producing 148 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In Japan, the MINI Countryman D Shadow Edition is priced at 5,980,000 yen (excluding consumption tax), with a separate recycling fee. Standard equipment includes driver assistance and safety systems such as adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, lane departure warning, surround-view cameras, and a parking assistant.
Orders are now open at MINI dealers in Japan, with deliveries scheduled to begin in February.
