FAW-Audi A5L Navigator Edition debuts with Huawei NOA and lidar

FAW-Audi will unveil the A5L Navigator Edition at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, a model that blends German engineering rigor with Chinese technology. The starting price is set at 289,800 yuan (about $40,800), and the headline feature is a Huawei suite that enables city and highway NOA along with intelligent parking. For a joint-venture sedan, this mix of systems looks like a confident step into genuinely advanced driver assistance.

The sedan employs 33 sensors, including an integrated lidar with heating and self-cleaning, designed to keep the system stable in rain and snow. The rear and side-view cameras also have automatic cleaners. In real-world weather, these practical touches tend to matter more than raw sensor counts.

Comfort is underpinned by a long 2,969 mm wheelbase, branded “cloud” seats, a nine-zone panoramic roof, and premium cabin materials. Under the hood sits the updated 2.0 TFSI EA888 Gen 5 paired with a 7-speed S tronic DCT, delivering smooth acceleration and solid efficiency. That familiar EA888 combined with a dual-clutch gearbox should keep responses crisp while holding fuel use in check.
