Chevrolet Colorado MHEV hybrid pickup coming to Brazil
GM plans a mild-hybrid Chevrolet Colorado for Brazil, featuring a 2.8L Duramax diesel engine with 209 hp, marking a first in mid-size pickups.
GM is reportedly planning to launch a hybrid version of the Chevrolet Colorado MHEV for the Brazilian market.
According to preliminary information, this pickup variant will feature the recently updated 2.8-liter I4 Duramax turbo-diesel engine, developed by GM's local engineering team, paired with a new mild-hybrid system. In the Colorado MHEV configuration, this powertrain will deliver 209 horsepower.
If confirmed, this would mark the world's first Chevrolet mid-size pickup with mild-hybrid drive. While GM's current mid-size pickup lineup lacks hybrid powertrains, the Colorado MHEV aligns with the electrification strategy announced by the company's Brazilian division.
