Elon Musk confirms Cybercab production starts in April. Tesla tests the autonomous vehicle in Alaska for cold-weather readiness, preparing for US-wide operation.

Elon Musk has confirmed that production of the Cybercab is set to begin in April, reiterating his earlier predictions about the vehicle's launch timeline.

In addition, Tesla has released photos showing the Cybercab undergoing testing in low-temperature conditions in Alaska. Notably, the Cybercab prototypes being tested in Alaska are likely equipped with winter tires.

The winter testing in Alaska indicates that Tesla is preparing the Cybercab for operation across a wide range of climates in the United States. Low temperatures, snow, and ice create some of the most challenging conditions for autonomous systems, making Alaska a logical location for testing a vehicle designed to operate without a driver.

Previously, Elon Musk cautioned that the launch and production ramp-up of the Cybercab would proceed slowly due to complexities involved in bringing an entirely new automotive platform to series production.
