Chevrolet Captiva EV and PHEV debut in Chile
General Motors launches the 2026 Chevrolet Captiva in Chile with EV and PHEV versions. Explore specs, pricing, and availability for these new crossovers.
General Motors has officially launched the new 2026 Chevrolet Captiva crossover in Chile, offering both a fully electric EV version and a plug-in hybrid PHEV variant. Shipments to South America began late last year, with Chile becoming the first Latin American market to receive both versions simultaneously—ahead of Brazil and Mexico.
Both models come exclusively in the Premier trim and share identical interior and exterior styling. The only visual distinction is the roof color: black for the EV, body-colored for the PHEV.
The Captiva EV features an electric motor producing 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, paired with a 60 kWh battery. Its claimed combined range reaches up to 415 km. Meanwhile, the Captiva PHEV combines the same electric motor with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a 20.5 kWh battery, delivering a maximum total range of 1,040 km under the NEDC cycle.
These vehicles are available through official Chevrolet dealers in Chile and are imported from China, specifically from the SGMW joint venture plant. For the market, the Captiva EV marks the brand's fifth all-electric model, while the Captiva PHEV is Chevrolet's first vehicle with this type of powertrain in Chile.
Pricing is set at 26,990,000 Chilean pesos (approximately $30,500) for the Captiva PHEV and 28,990,000 pesos (about $32,800) for the Captiva EV.
