Corvette ZR1 price in Europe compared to US and rivals
Discover why the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 costs over $490,000 in Europe, matching Lamborghini Revuelto, and how it attracts buyers despite high prices.
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has long been considered one of the best value propositions in the world of extreme supercars. But that status quickly disappears when purchasing in Europe, where the price of this American icon nearly catches up with its Italian rivals.
What the ZR1 costs outside the U.S.
In the United States, the Corvette ZR1 is priced around $175,000 and delivers over 1,000 horsepower, making it a genuine pricing anomaly. The situation in the UK is different. Factoring in delivery, customs duties, taxes, certification, and registration, the final cost reaches £365,000–425,000. Converted, that's $491,000 to $572,000, placing the model in the same price bracket as the Lamborghini Revuelto.
Why the price isn't deterring buyers
Despite the shocking price tag, interest in the model remains high. Most of the units brought to the UK have already been sold. Buyers are attracted not only by its rarity but also by its technical specifications. The ZR1 is equipped with a 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 and two large turbochargers, producing 1,064 horsepower. In terms of power, it surpasses many European competitors while remaining an exotic sight on Old World roads.
What this means for the brand
The ZR1's success in Europe shows that demand for extreme performance cars remains strong, regardless of the brand's origin. General Motors has already hinted at expanding the Corvette lineup toward even more expensive and exclusive versions. American supercar builders are increasingly moving into territory that was once the exclusive domain of European marques.
