The electric MINI Cooper is rated the safest city car by Euro NCAP, with high scores in adult and child protection, safety assist systems, and vulnerable road user safety.

The electric MINI Cooper has been named the safest city car and supermini by Euro NCAP, thanks to its impressive safety performance in recent tests.

Euro NCAP evaluates vehicles across four key areas, combining crash test results, active safety systems, and protection for both occupants and other road users. The MINI Cooper Electric delivered high, well-balanced scores in every category.

Adult occupant protection: At 89%, the car earned strong ratings for both frontal and side impacts, with high passenger compartment integrity and effective restraint systems.

Child occupant protection: Scoring 87%, the MINI performed well in child seat installation tests, with clear labeling and effective airbag management. This makes it suitable for families despite its compact size.

Safety assist systems: With a score of 79%, the model received high marks for its standard active safety features, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, speed assistance, and driver monitoring.

Vulnerable road user protection: At 77%, the car's effective detection of pedestrians and cyclists, plus its front-end design optimized to reduce injury severity, were key factors.

Euro NCAP noted that these results apply to the entire electric MINI Cooper lineup—including the Cooper E, Cooper SE, and JCW Electric—highlighting consistent safety across the range rather than advantages of any specific configuration.
