Volvo EX30 gets software update 1.6.4 with stronger one-pedal driving, sharper low-speed feel, energy display, and charging UI tweaks for smoother city control.
Volvo has rolled out software update 1.6.4 for the EX30 electric crossover, bringing noticeable improvements to how the car behaves without touching the hardware. The headline change is a reworked one-pedal driving mode. Drivers can now choose between low and high braking strength when lifting off the accelerator. The high setting delivers greater deceleration, which makes stop‑and‑go city driving easier and control more fluid.
Engineers also refined the powertrain’s behavior, especially at low speeds, sharpening response and making tight maneuvers and parking feel more precise. The screen now permanently displays energy consumption, and the system issues a warning when the battery charge is low. In everyday use, that constant readout is the kind of small but genuinely helpful aid that builds confidence behind the wheel.
There are also improvements to the charging interface and a new indicator showing when the battery is being cooled. Taken together, these tweaks make the EX30 an even friendlier urban EV and reinforce how software can meaningfully reshape a car’s character without a trip to the service bay. The stronger one-pedal option, in particular, should make easing to a stop more natural and less reliant on the brake pedal, while the low-speed polish is exactly where an electric crossover benefits most in dense traffic.
