Suzuki unveils the eVitara, its first electric crossover, on sale in the UK. Up to 400 km range, AWD option, 49–61 kWh batteries, prices from £26,249.

Suzuki has officially unveiled its first electric car, the eVitara, built on the new Heartect-e platform and manufactured in India. The model is already on sale in the UK, offered in two trims—Motion and Ultra—with prices starting at £26,249 (about $35,000).

The electric crossover comes with either a 49 or 61 kWh battery and electric motors rated from 142 to 172 hp. The AllGrip-e all-wheel-drive version adds a 48 kW rear motor, bringing combined output to 181 hp. Range is quoted at up to 400 km, and a DC connection takes the battery from 10 to 80% in 45 minutes. On paper, that balance of range and charging time looks thoughtfully judged for daily use, while the add-on rear motor keeps the AWD solution straightforward.

Inside, there’s a new infotainment system, a digital instrument panel, 12-color ambient lighting, and a mix of fabric and synthetic leather. The Ultra version adds 19-inch wheels, premium trim, and Suzuki’s signature Land Breeze Green paint. The cabin doesn’t chase excess; it aims for a clean, practical vibe with a few well-placed touches of flair.

Suzuki is offering a preferential price through the end of 2025: a discount of up to £3,750 and a complimentary Ohme Home charger. The range-topping eVitara 4WD Ultra is priced at £34,049 (about $45,000).

With the eVitara, Suzuki steps into the EV space with a value-first approach, positioning the crossover as a more attainable alternative to pricier electric rivals, including the Tesla Model Y. The strategy feels carefully targeted at buyers who want an EV that fits seamlessly into everyday life without overspending.
