Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: trims, batteries, range and price
Discover Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: Icon, Design and Excel trims, 49–61 kWh batteries, up to 425 km range, from £29,995. Sales start Dec 1; deliveries 2026.
Toyota is finally bringing its second EV to market—the Urban Cruiser EV. Sales start on December 1, and the newcomer steps straight into a crowded field already led by the Skoda Elroq, Volvo EX30, Kia EV3 and other compact electric crossovers. In this crowd, standing out will hinge on smart packaging rather than flashy figures.
The Urban Cruiser EV will be offered in three trims—Icon, Design and Excel—and with two battery options. The base Icon uses a 49‑kWh pack and a 142‑hp motor for a range of 213 miles (343 km). Standard kit includes 18‑inch wheels, a 10.25‑inch digital cluster, a 10.1‑inch infotainment screen, a sliding rear bench, a heat pump and a broad set of driver-assistance systems. Prices start from £29,995.

The Design and Excel versions step up to a 61‑kWh battery, a 172‑hp motor and up to 425 km of range. The Design adds heated seats and steering wheel plus heated mirrors and wiper, while the Excel brings 19‑inch wheels, JBL audio, wireless charging, a panoramic roof and adaptive LED headlights. On paper, the upgrades look like the right everyday comforts rather than window dressing.
First cars will reach customers in the first quarter of 2026, making the Urban Cruiser EV one of Toyota’s key launches in the affordable electric crossover segment. The timing suggests a measured rollout, but the overall package feels well-judged for the brief.
