BMW unveils XM Label Soundmachine, a one-off mobile DJ stage built by apprentices. Features roof platform, LED screen, and sound system, based on the 738 hp hybrid XM Label.

BMW M has unveiled an unusual show car called the XM Label Soundmachine. This isn't a production model or a new tuning package, but a one-off project built by apprentices at BMW's Dingolfing plant. The vehicle has been transformed into a mobile DJ stage, complete with chrome wrap, "The Ultimate Sound Machine" graphics, and a roof platform for performances.

The main structure sits on four pillars. It features a canopy, a double-sided LED screen measuring over six square meters, stage lighting, and four dBTechnologies speakers and four subwoofers. The DJ setup comprises a Pioneer DJM V10 mixer and two CDJ 3000X players. The quirkiest touch: four smoke machines built into the wheel arches.

BMW stresses that the show car is fully functional, but it's not meant to go fast. Because of the heavy stage structure, the car has a TÜV-approved top speed of just 15 km/h. The structure alone weighs around 1,400 kg, bringing the total project weight to roughly 2,800 kg. As a result, it's more of a mobile event stage than a road-going SUV.

Underneath it all is a BMW XM Label with a plug-in hybrid powertrain: a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, an electric motor, and an eight-speed automatic. The production XM Label churns out 738 horsepower and 1,000 Nm, and as of the 2026 model year, it remains the most powerful production BMW M. The battery isn't just for driving; BMW says the sound system, screen, and lights can operate for up to an hour without external power.

The XM Label Soundmachine has already made appearances at the Electric Mountain Festival in Sölden and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. It's also slated to show up at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
