While Peugeot and Citroen have long been absorbed into the Stellantis conglomerate, Renault has managed to maintain its independence. As the sole standalone major French carmaker, Renault shows no signs of giving up.

The company is transforming into a global brand by increasing its sales share outside Europe. Currently, nearly 40% of its vehicles are sold in international markets. Renault aims to boost annual sales to over 2 million units by 2030, with half of those coming from outside Europe.

Over the next five years, Renault will launch 36 new models, 14 of which are destined for markets beyond Europe. The automaker is investing around €3 billion in developing these new vehicles and establishing local production. Key focus regions include Latin America, India, Turkey, North Africa, and South Korea.

To accelerate model development, Renault actively leverages international teams. For instance, the new Twingo was developed with input from Chinese specialists in just two years. The company also tailors its cars to local markets, adapting everything from multimedia systems to technical specifications.

Certain models, like the Filante, are specifically aimed at Asian and South American markets and are not planned for Europe. Through it all, Renault preserves its independence by collaborating with partners like Geely, positioning itself as a key player on the global automotive stage.
