Hyundai i30 lineup updated with non-hybrid engines for 2026
Hyundai has updated the i30, removing mild-hybrid systems and introducing new non-hybrid engines. Learn about the 115 hp 1.0 T-GDI and 150 hp 1.6 T-GDI options, plus towing capacity changes.
Hyundai has updated its i30 lineup, removing mild-hybrid systems from the model. The company has discontinued the 110-horsepower 1.0 T-GDI and 140-horsepower 1.5 T-GDI engines, which previously featured electric assistance.
The base engine is now a non-hybrid 1.0 T-GDI gasoline unit producing 115 horsepower. This engine is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. The hatchback no longer offers the 7-speed automatic version.

The i30 Wagon retains its automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between two engines: the 115-horsepower 1.0 T-GDI and a new 150-horsepower 1.6 T-GDI, both without mild-hybrid technology. The towing capacity has also increased. The i30 Wagon with the 1.6 T-GDI can now tow up to 1,410 kilograms, which is 200 kilograms more than the previous 1.5 mild-hybrid version.
Additionally, the i30 is no longer available in N-Line trim. For the hatchback, the Comfort trim is essentially the only option. The model enters the 2026 lineup in this simplified configuration.
