A modified 2022 Ram 1500 TRX with 730 hp, lift kit, and 37-inch tires is on sale for $119,900, out-pricing the upcoming 2027 model. Buy now or wait?

While Ram is gearing up to deliver the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX, used-car buyers already have an option. Garage Kept Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is selling a 2022 Ram 1500 TRX in black with modifications. The price is well above the new model's base MSRP. The pickup wears Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat, and the interior is also black. It has about 13,000 miles (around 21,000 km) on the odometer.

Under the hood is the familiar 6.2-liter supercharged V8, but output is now a claimed 730 hp, up from the stock 702 hp. The bump likely comes from a Borla ATAK exhaust, which also gives the truck a more aggressive sound.

The upgrades aren't limited to the engine. There's a 21-c TRX lift kit, 20-inch black Fuel Rebel wheels, and massive 37-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires—roughly 94 cm in outer diameter. Out back, air helper springs have been added to improve load handling and ride height control.

Exterior additions include two front LED light bars with Baja Designs mounting in the grille, a rear LED kit, underbody lighting, Amp Research power-deploying running boards with integrated LEDs, an Impact bedliner, window tint, and ceramic coating on paint and glass. The asking price is $119,900, or about €111,000.

That's more than the base $102,290 for the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX, which promises 777 hp, an 8-speed automatic, permanent all-wheel drive with low-range, Bilstein e2 Blackhawk dampers, a Dana 60 rear axle with electronic locking differential, and 300 mm of ground clearance.

The catch with the new TRX is that it isn't available to buy and drive away yet. This used example is already at the dealer, fully modified with low miles. For buyers, it's less about power and more about timing: wait for the factory truck or pay up for a ready-to-go off-road build.

This Ram 1500 TRX isn't being marketed as a rational buy. Instead, it's a chance to get a supercharged V8 in a blacked-out, fully equipped off-road machine right now—while the next-gen TRX is still just a promise.
