Ford recalls 12,782 Pumas for driveshaft issue, and 9,026 others (Tourneo Courier, Transit Courier, Focus) for coolant pump defect. No accidents.

Ford has launched multiple recall campaigns in Europe. Citing Germany's KBA agency, Motor.es reports that 12,782 Ford Puma crossovers are affected. These were built at the Craiova plant in Romania. Of those, 2,017 are in Germany—1,418 already delivered to customers.

The problem lies in the inner joint of the driveshaft connecting the right front wheel to the powertrain. Drivers may notice unusual noises or vibrations from the front axle. This can lead to a loss of power because torque isn't transmitted correctly. The defect does not affect steering and won't cause a wheel to detach, according to the report. No accidents have been reported as a result.

Affected Ford Pumas were built between September 5, 2025 and February 9, 2026. Ford will inspect each vehicle and replace the defective driveshaft if needed. Owners whose cars meet the production window and have noticed noise, vibration, or power loss should get in touch with the manufacturer or a dealer.

A second campaign targets the Ford Tourneo Courier, Transit Courier, and Focus, built between November 6, 2025 and February 6, 2026. Here the issue is different: the coolant pump mounting can loosen. This could also cause a power loss and poses a risk to the engine. In total, 9,026 vehicles are affected. Ford will replace the water pump and timing belt.
