Mercedes GLC 350 L: long-wheelbase electric SUV for China
Mercedes GLC 350 L long-wheelbase EV lands in China with dual motors (219/402 hp), likely 94‑kWh pack, 800+ km range, and improved rear access and seating.
Mercedes is expanding its electric lineup in China with the long-wheelbase GLC 350 L, a version shaped for local preferences. The wheelbase now measures 3,027 mm (+55 mm), and while the gain may look minor on paper, it’s noticeable in the second row: the wider rear-door opening and reworked seating geometry genuinely improve how passengers settle in.
On the outside, the GLC 350 L is nearly identical to the European GLC EQ, apart from the longer rear doors and a small L badge on the tail. The illuminated, oversized grille still invites debate, yet this bold face continues to resonate in China—and on the street it reads as distinctly premium, if a touch showy.
The technical brief provides the real intrigue. The model uses two electric motors: 219 hp at the front and 402 hp at the rear—more than the GLC 400 EQ announced for Europe. Official battery specs haven’t been confirmed, but the same 94‑kWh pack is likely to carry over. Under China’s range cycle, a figure above 800 km can be expected; if that holds, it takes the edge off long trips, and the available thrust promises effortless overtakes without breaking a sweat.
